Philip Stephens

Non-Executive Chairman:
Philip Stephens, aged 65.
Philip was an investment banker in the City for 38 years until his retirement in 2002. Prior to retirement, he was at stockbrokers Williams de Broë for four years as joint head of the corporate finance department and before that was head of UK corporate finance at securities house UBS from 1995, having joined that firm in 1989. He is currently Non-executive Chairman of Egdon Resources plc, Economic Lifestyle Property Investment Company Limited and Neptune-Calculus Income and Growth VCT plc. He is also a Non-executive Director of Business Post Group plc and Foresight 4 VCT plc.

Carl Turpin Chief Executive:
Carl Turpin, aged 56.
Carl qualified as an accountant in 1976 and is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. After a period in practice and the computer industry Carl joined Total Oil as a management accountant. He then formed his own accountancy practice which grew into three branches in Sutton, Sevenoaks and Crawley specialising in insolvency matters. From 1978 he engaged in various property developments, including joint venture developments in the South East of England and South London. Through the 1980's and 1990's Carl continued to develop property, holding executive positions in various public limited companies. Oakdene Homes was formed in 1996.
Robert Boot Finance Director and Company Secretary:
Robert Boot, FCA, aged 57.
Robert qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1971. He has a wide-ranging commercial experience with particular experience in the construction industry. From 1990 to 1997 he was Chief Executive of MDA Group Plc, a firm of international construction consultants. In 1998 he led the management buy-out of MDA's computer division. This became Radical Technology (since re-named HTTP Software Plc) which obtained an OFEX trading facility in 1999, and was bought out by MedicSight, Inc (formerly HTTP Technology, Inc) in 2000. Robert is a member of the Bank of England's Panel for South London. Robert joined Oakdene Homes as a non-executive Director in 2001, became an Executive Director in 2003 and was appointed Company Secretary in 2004.
Ronald William Fender

Director:
Ronald William Fender, aged 60.
Ronald was employed by two London based Architectural Firms over a period of ten years before setting up his own small practice in Sevenoaks Kent in 1980. The practice went on to specialise in residential schemes for developers and builders and received the ‘House of the Year’ award at the Ideal Home Exhibition. The practice also gained a significant reputation for the skilful conversions of large properties and Listed Buildings into apartments culminating in a Gold award from the Evening Standard for the ‘Best New Conversion’ and ‘Best New Development’ for work on a Grade II* listed convent in Woking. A small development arm was also formed and valuable experience gained from the developers perspective when undertaking a number of successful joint ventures with builders.

Ronald joined Oakdene in May 2004 when Oakdene acquired Ronald Fender Design, of which Ron was the Principal, and he was appointed to the Board in April 2005, with particular responsibility for Design.

Philip Clarke Non-executive Director:
Philip Clarke, FRICS, aged 55.
Philip is a fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He is experienced in all aspects of commercial and residential property development having been a director of a number of leading companies including the Hunting Gate Group and Samuel Properties Limited. In 1990 Philip set up a specialist consultancy business advising merchant banks and other lending institutions on how to deal with problems associated with non-performing property loans. In 1995, he merged his business with H W Fisher & Company, a leading UK firm of Chartered Accountants, and established a niche property finance and consultancy business offering equity and mezzanine finance to housebuilders. He is managing director of Fisher Property Services Limited. A qualified professional with over 20 years' experience in the property, development and investment field, Philip is a long established friend of the Decker family, a member of the RAC Club and Chairman of the Croydon Conservation Panel. He was appointed a Non-executive director of Oakdene in 2002 at the time of the acquisition of Trigrange Limited.
Timothy Hearley Non-executive Director:
Timothy Hearley, aged 65.
Tim graduated in Physics from Oxford University and in the 1970's worked for GEC Telecommunications, WS Atkins Plc, and as a stockbroking analyst in the City. In the 1980's he moved into the manufacturing industry and has broad experience in the automotive sector including his acquisition of Aston Martin Lagonda Limited, which he jointly chaired with Victor Gauntlet! Further, in 2000 he helped launch Virgin Cars Limited and became Company CHairman. Tim is an experienced Chairman and Director of a number of listed and private businesses, and an active private equity investor. As a Director and investor in Moorepay Group Plc he took the business to AIM at a valuation of £6 million and led negotiations for its £40 million sale to Rebus Limited in early 2000. He also chaired the fully-listed software company Rolfe & Nolan plc until 2003, when he led a successful public-private deal. He is also a former non-executive director of Westbury plc, the housebuiler and independent trustee to the Westbury plc Pension Fund. More recently, Tim is Chairman of AIM listed Reflec plc, and Chairman of Vicorp Group plc, Cap Energy Limited, and IQ Holdings plc, listed on Ofex.
Nigel Wray

Non-executive Director:

 

Nigel Wray, aged 60.

Nigel Wray is the Chairman of Saracens Rugby Club and British Seafood Group Holdings Limited, Non-Executive Director of Domino's Pizza UK & IrL Plc, Networkers International Plc, English Wines Group Plc, Prestbury Investment Holdings Limited, Play Holdings Limited, Seymour Pierce Holdings Limited and several other private companies.
